Joey Magnani - Co-Founder & Director of Operations

Joey Magnani - Senior Instructor (Baseball - Hitting & Fielding)(Softball - Hitting & Fielding)

Joey graduated from Ashland High School in 2000 as a three year varsity baseball starter. During his junior year, he was a TVL All-Star honorable mention winner and named first team TVL All-Star the following year. Joey led his varsity team to the Massachusetts Division III State Championship in 2000.

Joey continued his baseball career as a player at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire where he majored in Sports Management/ Exercise Science.  During his four years at Colby-Sawyer he was a starter in Center field and Left field. He is also a fixture in the top ten of almost every offensive category in the schools history with his best game coming his senior year against Wentworth when he hit three home runs in three consecutive at-bats and totaled eleven RBI’s.

After graduating from college, Joey accepted a job at Extra Innings in Wrentham, MA where he was employed for the next six years. From 2004 to 2008 Joey worked as a sales associate and baseball instructor. In 2008, Joey became the General Manager as well as Director of Baseball Operations where he implemented player training programs and managed the daily operations until 2010 when he left to pursue the opportunity to open a sports facility

Alec Palioca

Alec Palioca - Senior Instructor (Baseball - Pitching, Hitting & Fielding)

Alec Pitched at Wheaton College and in his Junior Year he appeared in 11 games (ten starts)... posted a 6-1 record with a 2.35 earned run average (ERA)... logged 61.1 innings, a team-best 62 strikeouts and held opponents to a .230 batting average (52-for-226)... pitched two complete games (both seven inning contests)... fanned a career-high 11 batters in a 3-2 loss to Endicott College in the NCAA Tournament (May 16)... struck out five or more batters in seven games... whiffed 33 batters total in five consecutive starts over 34.2 innings pitched... did not allow a triple or a home run on the season... Wheaton went 8-2 overall in his ten starts... averaged 9.10 strikeouts per game and a 3.3 strikeout-to-walk ratio... averaged 5.58 innings per appearance... ranked 63rd overall in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (9.1) and 90th in strikeouts (62)... ranked 136th in the country in ERA (2.35).

As a Junior (2016)
  • Started 52 of 53 games played at first base
  • Named to America East all-conference second team
  • Hit .307 with 59 hits, 34 runs and 42 RBI from clean-up spot
  • Belted team-high nine home runs and had .516 slugging percentage
  • Ranked third in AE in HR, sixth in slugging and RBI and 12th in hits
  • Named to America East All-Championship Team after collecting five hits and three RBI in three games
  • Hit .345 with 20 RBI in 23 conference games
  • Helped anchor defense that ranked ninth in nation in fielding
  • Committed just two errors in 439 chances and turned 40 double plays

  • Produced second-most multiple-hit games on team with 12
  • Had third-longest reached-base streak with 16
  • Collected 18 extra-base hits, tied for most on team
  • Hit .333 over final 26 games, hitting safely in 23
  • Had stretch of 12 RBI in 11 games in April
  • Went 3-for-4 with double, home run and career-high five RBI at VMI on March 9
  • Roughed up UMBC pitching for two home runs, seven RBI in two series'
  • Had most multiple-RBI games on team with 10
  • Produced team-best .360 average in conference play
  • Third in America East in slugging percentage with a .517 mark
  • Among America East top-20 in batting average and doubles (11)

  • Batted .429 (3-for-7) with double, two runs scored at NCAA Regional
  • Drove in 2 runs against NJIT on April 1
  • Went 2-for-3 with two runs scored against No. 21 Nebraska
  • Notched fifth double of season against No. 7 Oklahoma State
  • Had two hits in America East championship-clinching win over Stony Brook
